Meet Rupa

Founder & Managing Partner, Arāya Ventures

Rupa Popat, Founder of House of Araya

Rupa started her journey as an investment banker with a deep curiosity for startups and innovation. She wanted to invest but found the path to becoming an angel investor unclear. Crowdfunding seemed like the only option, and she had no personal network of investors to guide her.

After launching and exiting her own startup in 2019, a pivotal moment changed everything. A friend asked: "Would you like to write an angel cheque? £5k alright?" That first investment exited successfully in 2024.

Since then: 30+ startup investments, 7 emerging fund investments, and a £25m fund backed by the British Business Bank. Arāya Ventures won Best New Fund Manager at the EISA Awards 2025 and Pre-Seed and Seed Investment Firm of the Year in 2024 and 2025.

Rupa has guided 400+ angel investors across London, Dubai, Riyadh, and beyond. She teaches the way top investors do: with insight, clarity, and no jargon.
